BREAKING: Thomas Tuchel makes Kylian Mbappe transfer decision

…..Marina Granovskaia is sent £144m warning

Chelsea have pulled themselves from the race to sign Kylian Mbappe following Thomas Tuchel’s concerns with his work rate as Timo Werner shows the Frenchman exactly what standards he must meet

Marina Granovskaia has pulled Chelsea out of the race to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer this summer following Thomas Tuchel’s concerns with the 22-year-old, according to Catalan outlet El Nacional.

The report claims that the Blues are no longer willing to submit a ‘great offer’ for the Paris Saint Germain forward after Tuchel communicated his doubts as to whether or not his former player would cooperate with his tactics.

Mbappe, who arrived at the Les Parc des Princes from AS Monaco in 2017 in a deal worth an eventual £130 million, featured 98 times under the Chelsea boss in the France capital, scoring 46 goals while also winning Ligue 1 twice.

Tuchel worked closely with the Frenchman for two and a half years but stressed the difficulty in coaching Mbappe and Neymar in accordance with his philosophies as a modern coach who operates a meticulously organised pressing system.

Speaking in December 2020, Tuchel sent an early warning to Chelsea about a potential deal for Mbappe as the german explained how he and Neymar’s lack of cooperation on the training field has proved an uphill battle.

“Sometimes it’s very easy, sometimes it’s a big challenge,” he said. “At a club like PSG, there are many influences. That’s why it can be very challenging to keep all the guys happy.”

Tuchel then revealed earlier this season in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: “It’s easier to coach Lukaku than Neymar or Mbappe. At Chelsea, I work much more calmly.”

Writers and presenters who share your passion for the Blues will be producing written, visual and audio content to reflect the mood in the stands as well as the press box.

The Blues boss continues to hold the utmost standards for his players at Stamford Bridge with many of his ideologies from PSG still at the forefront of his work in west London.

Pressing is just a chapter from his bible to a fruit-bearing life at Chelsea and Timo Werner is a disciple in ensuring Tuchel’s tactical message is shared among the squad.

Werner has directly contributed towards 15 goals in 34 appearances under his fellow countryman, however, it is his pressing numbers that show why Tuchel has opted for the £47m striker from RB Leipzig over a £144m market value Mbappe.

Chelsea’s number eleven made just two more starts than Mbappe did in each of their respective domestic campaigns last season, yet Werner was far more defensively astute.

Werner won nearly four times as many tackles (18 – 5) as Mbappe and 14 of which came in the midfield third compared to the World Cup winner’s mere one.

With Romelu Lukaku’s place cemented at the top of Tuchel’s attacking trident, the Blues boss looks for his flanking forwards – inside or not – to work on the back foot.

Werner completed nearly 200 more presses (380) than Mbappe (183), 45 more recoveries, more of which across all thirds and most notably in the defensive and midfield sectors.

While Mbappe may expose Werner in the goal department, it’s clear that Tuchel values work rate and studious behaviour over any measure of talent.
